Support For Cold Weather Shelter

The Oklahoma City Planning Commission conducted a meeting to deliberate on and advance the recommendation for a Special Permit enabling the operation of an Emergency Cold Weather Shelter at our Cathedral. The permit, identified as SP-584, pertains to providing shelter when the temperature falls to 32°F or below for three consecutive days. It is essential to note that Special Permits are subject to modifications pending review by the Oklahoma City Staff, recommendations from the Planning Commission, and approval by the City Council. The final endorsement of this permit rests with the City Council. We encourage members who wish to endorse this initiative to sign and submit a letter to their respective representative.
