Our Emergency Cold Weather Shelter will reopen for families in need starting Saturday, January 18 at 12 p.m. through Thursday, January 23 at 12 p.m. Please note, the shelter will not disrupt any weekend services or other scheduled activities at the cathedral. Given the expected lower demand for family housing this time, we will accommodate families in the Adult Learning Room of the Education Building. (Please note that if you usually attend the Sunday adult formation class in this room, you will meet in the Garden Gallery instead.)
We are looking for volunteers to assist in two important ways:
(1) If you are NOT already registered to volunteer, please sign up on the City Care Site. If you are already registered, you will be able to sign up for available volunteer shifts and receive emails when shifts are available. (2) Volunteer for designated shifts as needed. HERE.Currently, we do not require food donations, but if you would like to contribute supplies, check out the
supply list Thank you in advance for your ongoing support of our unhoused community as we prepare for the severe cold headed to the metro this week.
For any questions, please email Stephanie Jensen, St. Paul’s Shelter Coordinator, at

We will open our campus to support our City and neighbors for our 3rd winter season Emergency Cold Weather Shelter - this winter serving families with children. This vital ministry is a commitment from our entire Cathedral community, and we need everyone’s help to continue this important work. Read the Dean's letter about the January 2025 shelter HERE.
St. Paul’s has always been dedicated to the care and support of the unhoused in downtown Oklahoma City. During the late 1980s and 1990s, when many places of worship moved from downtown to the suburbs, we remained steadfast in our commitment to the downtown area. Through ministries like the Guild of St. George and now our Emergency Cold Weather Shelter, we have stood with our unhoused siblings.
We do know that this winter will bring families to us to care for and comfort. The time is NOW to get ready. There are several ways you can begin making an impact today:
1. Sign up to volunteer: Visit the City Care Website— our shelter partners—and sign up to help. Learn more about volunteer shifts HERE. There are training videos to watch and a registration process to complete. Once you have completed your volunteer registration, you will automatically be alerted when there are volunteer slots available.
2. Donate supplies: Review our supply list (Amazon Wish List) and consider contributing items which are greatly needed now.
3. Have questions? Reach out to Stephanie Jensen, Shelter Coordinator and Staff Assistant.
