Deadline for sign-up is August 23.
The Oklahoma Cursillo movement is
holding a three-day weekend September 4–7 at St. Crispin's Episcopal
camp. The program begins Thusday evening at 7:00 pm and ends on
Sunday around 4:30 pm.
Cursillo is, literally, a short course in
Christianity. Those of us in the movement, however, think of it more
as a way to elevate our relationship with Christ, or, to use Emeril's
vernacular, to "kick it up another notch."
The Cursillo weekend is meant to evolve an already established identity with Christ into an
even closer one through talks, activities, conversations, meditations,
prayer, worship, healing, and singing!
It is a method of renewal for the church. Its purpose is to convert
Christians to a deeper relationship with God so that they can better
understand their individual callings to be Christian leaders.
You will need a lay person to be your sponsor (someone who has already attended a Cursillo) and be approved by a clergyperson.
St. Paul's has many members who have attended Cursillo,
and most would agree that it's a great experience. If you think this
type of experience might benefit you, please contact one of the clergy,
or any of the following persons: Todd Olberding, Bud or
Biel Johnson, Gil or Jeannie Haas. They''ll be happy to discuss this with you. You can also visit the website
at www.okcursillo.org, which is where you you can download applications.
