Taizé Presentation and Service

Presentation on Sunday, February 7 at 10:10 am in Dean Willey Hall
Taizé Service on Sunday, February 7 at 5:00 pm in the Cathedral

The Taizé service, held the First Sunday of every month, carves out a space for chanting, for silent meditation, contemplation of Scripture, and prayer. Come to our Forum Presentation at 10:10 and find out why our small group of Taize regulars loves this quiet, peaceful Evensong.

A evening with Taize is a wonderful thing to add to your observance of Lent!  There is a service on Sunday at 5 pm, and the next one is Sunday, March 7.

Annual Meeting & Election Results

We wanted everyone to have a quick rundown of some things that were discussed at the Annual Meeting on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm, January 31, 2010.

Dean Back recognized Rachel Pringle's many years of service as Secretary for St. Paul's, and Molly Tolbert was elected by acclamation to succeed her. Steve Parker was also elected by acclamation to serve another year as Senior Warden, and the retiring members of Vestry were recognized.

The columbarium is moving forward, and we're now taking orders for niches for what will be Dean Back's final project at St. Paul's. We'll be celebrating the service of Dean Back and Margaret with a picnic at Harn Homestead on Saturday, May 15 and receptions after the 9 and 11 am services on Sunday, May 16.

Following a standing ovation for Dean George and Margaret Back, the election results for Vestry and Delegates were announced. We congratulate our new Vestry members: John Koons, Jane Magrath, Buzz McDonald, and Amy Fischer; and our delegates elected to the 2010 Diocesan Convention: Robert Dennis, Gary Derrick, Larry Joplin, Miles Tolbert, Hank Bowen, Dian Everett, John Koons, Mary Schneeberger, and Patti Morgan.

This Sunday's Topic: Stages of Life

Sunday, February 7th at 10:10 am in Dean Willey Hall with Dean Back

Babies in the womb move through three trimesters. The Dean will share the stages of body, mind and soul through which adults mature on earth.

Everyone is invited to join our Pilgrimage 2010 series, a pilgrimage toward Christian Formation and Confirmation where we discuss St. Paul's history, how we worship and what we believe. Anyone new to the cathedral and anyone interested in deeper participation in the life of St. Paul's is invited to join us for this fourteen-week journey of study, worship and fellowship. If you have any questions please see a PDF of our Pilgrimage 2010 Class Schedule for more details or send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
