St. Oakerhater Honor Dance

Oakerhater pictureTwenty-fifth Annual Honor Dance, Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the inclusion of St. David Pendleton Oakerhater in the Episcopal Calendar of Saints

Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 1:00 pm

On Saturday, September 11 we will be honoring and celebrating the life of St. David Pendleton Oakerhater with our twenty-fifth annual honor dance. The honor dance will take place at the Oakerhater Episcopal Center in Watonga, Oklahoma.

The Day will begin at 1 pm with the traditional Gourd Dance, which will be followed by Holy Eucharist at 4:30 pm. After worship, participants will enjoy feasting on fry bread, corn soup and other Native American dishes. Dinner will follow, and evening activities will begin at the multi-purpose center of the Indian Clinic. You can read more about Oakerhater here.

Rally Day

Sunday School Registration, Meet the Sunday School Teachers

September 12 at 10:10 am in Dean Willey Hall

Come register all children, new and returning, for Sunday School on Sept. 12. Following registration, children and parents can journey downstairs to the Undercroft to meet teachers and, if all goes according to schedule, see the newly renovated Sunday School classrooms. Our first day of Sunday School begins on September 19.

On Rally Day you can also learn about our new adult educational offering, “Equipping the Saints.” The kick-off Forum will be held on Sunday, September 19. On Wednesday evenings we will explore the topics of “Living Through the Seasons of Our Lives”, “Using the Gifts God Has Given Us” and “Being the People of God In the Real World.” The Wednesday series will be offered September 22 through November 17 from 6–7:30 pm. Child care will be provided.

 
Annual Parish Picnic

Summer is winding down and that means activities at St. Paul’s are gearing up! Please come and join us for our Annual Parish Picnic & Rally Day activities. At 5 pm we will gather at Harn Homestead for our annual picnic event. We provide the fried chicken, beverages, music and games; you provide your family, friends, something to sit on and a dish to share!

 

 
Young Adult Fellowship Schedule September – October

Young Adult Fellowship is a ministry of study, fellowship and fun for those in their 20s and 30s, both single and married. We meet at St. Paul’s on the third Wednesday evening of each month for Chat and Chow when we share a great meal and discussion. We also sponsor numerous other fun social, sporting, or service events.  Watch the weekly updates in your service bulletin or online at stpaulsokc.org.
